Wrongful Death

A claim brought by close family when negligence causes a death. It covers what the family lost financially, and the relationship that was taken from them.

Personal Injury
Steady, thorough advocacy after an unthinkable loss.

There are usually two claims after a death: the family's own losses, and a survival claim for what the person suffered before they died. They are proved differently and they are often worth different amounts.

We handle the probate step, coordinate among family members so the claim is brought once and correctly, and keep the pace of the case away from your grief. You will not be asked to relive it more often than the law requires.

What we do on a case like this

  • One point of contact for the whole family
  • Probate and standing handled before filing
  • Economist retained where lost earnings are at issue
  • No family meeting you did not ask for

Questions and Answers

Q.There is a criminal case already. Does that change ours?+
A.

No. A criminal prosecution punishes; a civil claim compensates. They run in parallel, a conviction can help the civil case, and an acquittal does not end it, because the standard of proof is lower.

Q.The family does not agree about pursuing this. What happens?+
A.

That is common and it is workable. Statutes generally require the claim to be brought once, on behalf of everyone with standing, and we are used to structuring it so nobody is forced into a room with anyone.

Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Every case turns on its own facts, and nothing on this page is legal advice or creates an attorney-client relationship.

Personal Injury Claims

When another party's negligence leaves you hurt, the claim covers your medical care, the income you lost, and what the injury took from your daily life. We build it for trial and negotiate from there.

Premises Liability

Injuries on property that was not kept safe: broken stairs and railings, unmarked wet floors, bad lighting, falling merchandise, and negligent security.

Dog Bites and Animal Attacks

Bite and attack claims, including the scarring and the fear that outlast the wound. Most are paid by the owner's homeowner or renter policy, not out of pocket.
